Hurrah!! It’s Christmas party time.

Hurrah!! It’s Christmas party time. This week many of you will be preparing to end the year with a bang at your annual Christmas do.

We held our Collect a Case bash earlier this month and our Christmas gift to you is to impart some helpful advice to ensure you survive the office party night without being the subject of sniggers and giggles when you return to work.

Do not get absolutely slaughtered at your company Christmas do.

Do not be the one who is two drinks ahead of everyone else, not two behind.

Think about how you would explain your behaviour the next day if you were the one who called your boss a naughty name, or tried to snog Louise in HR?

You wake up with a pounding head and a terrible taste in your mouth, and a shrivelled brain that is quickly reliving the memory of something awful.  You just want to crawl back under your duvet and hide until after the January sales.  This is not an option.  December is not over yet, Christmas celebrations with family and friends are still to be had AND you need to face the music, even if that ‘music’ is colleagues’ laughter or even worse, their anger.

Think – did I overstep the mark with anyone?

If you know you behaved badly, just simply hold your hands up and admit you were in the wrong.  Ask yourself how bad your behaviour really was. Be realistic and try and gain some perspective.   If you’ve just been a bit foolish or annoying, you will be forgiven.

Ask yourself; how drunk was everyone else?

Try to find out from a trusted colleague – you may be pleasantly surprised and just a bit relieved to discover that everyone else acted the same and feels a bit sensitive and sheepish too.

Collect a Case organised a fantastic Christmas party with a seemingly endless amount of beer and a bountiful spread. The party was doubly special as we distributed our Secret Santa gifts and premiered our Collect a Case animated Christmas message for 2015.

Simon G.Proudfoot worked tirelessly on our animation to ensure sure the production was pitch perfect.  The animation was a clear reflection from where we’ve come from and it showcased our talent and expertise in all areas of the business to our clients, the general public, friends and family.

Simon and Louise, you truly made Christmas special this year and I raise my glass to salute you both. Cheers!

Collect a Case took part in Christmas Jumper Day.  Thanks to the overwhelming support from our colleagues popping on their pullovers, the event was a huge success and all our donations went to three worthy charities: Save the Children, Macmillan Cancer Support and Make-A-Wish UK.   It’s not too late to join in and donate.

Simply pull on your best festive sweater and make a donation to:

£5: text SANTA5 to 70760

£10: text SANTA10 to 70760

And you’ll be helping to raise money for their life saving work world-wide.

We also asked work colleagues, family members and the general public to clear out their cupboards once again to help donate food to the Silklife Foodbank.   It’s getting colder and unfortunately there are a lot of people in Macclesfield who would really benefit from some help with their essential items of shopping.   Well Done to Collect a Case, once again you donated and we were extremely proud.

Finally, from all of us to all of you, we’d like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.  Remember – 2016 can represent anything you want it to. Don’t limit yourself, and look forward to welcoming the exciting challenges and interesting opportunities that await.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
